Summer season is about to begin, but many travelers are already thinking ahead and booking Winter getaways, and Air Canada seems to be very aware of their customers’ needs.

The Canadian carrier has recently announced new routes to sunny destinations next winter.

Now that travelers want to save money, reduce risks and plan ahead of the holidays, they have new international destination ideas and enough time to prepare accordingly.

And seats are already available for purchase. Air Canada will soon serve routes to:

Fort-de-France, the capital of the Caribbean island of Martinique.
La Romana in the beautiful Dominican Republic.
Los Cabos, the luxurious beach destination in Mexico.
Monterrey, Mexico’s third largest city.

The new routes will depart from Toronto and Montreal, and the carrier also increased frequency for other existing routes to top destinations like Miami, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.

Top 10 summer travel destinations for BC travelers

British Columbians are eager to travel after years of pandemic-related restrictions slowed air travel to a halt.

This summer, travelers around the world have already planned stays in over 72,000 cities and towns and short-term rental biz Airbnb expects to have upwards of 300 million guest arrivals on its platform.

The company has also identified some BC summer travel trends, including a noteworthy hunger for more affordable options. Travelers looked for cheaper accommodations to cut down on costs, with searches for “private rooms” up roughly 48 per cent.

The top four most popular search categories for BC residents were “amazing pools”, “iconic cities”, “lake”, and “trending”.

Many popular destinations are jam-packed with tourists during BC’s short-lived sunny season, making it difficult to relax on public beaches and pools.

US News Best Vacation 2023 list shouts out these Arizona places

Two of the best places in the country to take a vacation are in Arizona, according to a new ranking.

US News & World Report has issued its list of the best vacations for 2023-24, highlighting 16 categories of destinations worldwide.

Grand Canyon National Park and Sedona appeared on the publication’s list of the 30 best places to visit in the US

Their appearance in this year’s ranking is just the latest accolade for both places, known for their scenic splendor and abundance of outdoor adventures. The Grand Canyon is considered one of the seven natural wonders of the world, while Sedona’s red rocks, hiking and resort spas wowed TripAdvisor users, who named it one of the most popular US destinations for 2023.
