The 49ers will travel more miles than all but 1 team this season

The 49ers’ schedule isn’t out yet, but based on their opponents we can already determine that their travel schedule could be a rough one. A chart posted by ESPN’s Adam Schefter shows San Francisco is slated to travel 29,958 miles this season, which is the second-highest number in the NFL behind the Seahawks.

It’s not a huge shock that teams on the coast tend to travel more miles. For the 49ers though they have an unusually robust travel schedule this year thanks to the schedule rotation and their first-place finish in the NFC West last year.

Here’s a look at the full chart via Schefter:

On the 49ers’ schedule are the four NFC East teams, of which they’ll travel to Philadelphia and Washington. They also face the AFC North and travel to Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Thanks to their first-place finish they’ll also head to Minnesota (the NFC North winner) and

Sour Beers for Japan’s Sweltering Summer

As another ridiculously hot, sweaty Japanese summer sweeps in, there’s nothing like grabbing a cold brew to kick back and cool down with. While an ice-cold pint from one of Japan’s big four – Kirin, Sapporo, Suntory or Asahi — might suffice for some, the growth in popularity of craft beers has opened the doors for taste buds to embrace beers with more refined flavors and sophistication. But let’s be honest, IPAs and the like can be rather predictable after a while. Instead, enter the cheek-sucking world of sour beer that’s full of exciting and drool-inducing flavors that you can’t get with any other type of beer.

The Brewing Process

Sour beer, as you can probably guess, has an intentionally acidic, tart or sour taste that can be pure refreshment. Technically stretching back as far as 4,000 BC, thanks to the naturally occurring bacteria used in the ancient beer brewing

BitSummit 2023 Celebrates Indie Games in Kyoto

BitSummit, held in Kyoto’s Miyako Messe, had its biggest showcase yet in July, featuring over 100 game titles alongside their developers, publishers and associated businesses who came together to promote the magic of independently made video games.

“We wanted to do something that was different from the big shows like PAX,” says John Davis, co-founder of BitSummit. “It all started in 2012 as an intimate gathering to promote Japanese indies. People in the industry weren’t really talking to each other and we wanted to raise the profile of the indie industry in Japan as a whole.”

BitSummit took up the entire first floor of Miyako Messe, with several smaller breakout rooms below as private meeting spaces and resting areas. Continuing with the successful format of 2022, Friday remained a business day for industry-related individuals to meet and try out each other’s video games. At the weekend, domestic and international gamers

Chris Broad Celebrates 10 Years in Japan With His First Book

Ten years is a long time to be doing anything — let alone stay relevant on the internet, an arena of notorious trends that explode and then diffuse within a matter of days. But that’s exactly what the Abroad in Japan YouTube channel has done and continues to do. Helmed by filmmaker and host Chris Broad, his content has introduced a global audience to Japan through his natural affinity for videography and his own brand of British wit. Broad now adds author to his list of accolades, with an eponymous memoir, a culmination of over a decade spent living life in Japan.

The Early Years

There are 29 chapters in this book and each one is written in the style of a personal essay. Many of the chapters document brod’s time in Yamagata Prefecture as an assistant language teacher (ALT), a gig he received via the Japanese government-sponsored JET

Pearson airport boss says summer operations have ‘significantly improved’

The head of Toronto Pearson International Airport says operations have “significantly improved” at Canada’s busiest travel hub after travelers experienced turbulence before they even left the ground last summer.

“This summer is of course very different from summer 2022 with its slingshot of growth of 180 per cent in a very short period of time,” Deborah Flint, Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) CEO, said at a news conference on Tuesday. “The numbers that we show today speak volumes.”

According to Flint, security wait times in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 have both “dramatically” improved since 2022. Most recent data from the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) shows that during the week of July 3, more than 90 per cent of passengers cleared security in less than 15 minutes.

At customs, the average wait time for passengers was seven minutes, which Flint called a “substantial improvement” over last summer.

New warning issued for rebooking air travel after delays, cancellations

Summer air travel is already off to a bumpy start for many travelers experiencing more flight delays than usual and now there’s a new alert for when it’s time to rebook.

With flight delays higher than last summer, stuck travelers are trying to avoid the lines and calling to rebook — and that’s where the trouble can start.

Shmuli Evers told ABC News he was in an hour on Sunday evening at JFK Airport in New York City when his Delta flight to Florida was cancelled. While in a line of other stranded passengers at the help desk, Evers said he searched online for a number for Delta customer service. He called the number listed and eventually got an automated prompt.

Evers said he was almost scammed.

“There was like two options — like is this for this airline, that airline,” which he recalled thinking was weird. “‘If this is

Azabu-Juban

sailor Moon takes place in a district called Juban, and its real-life counterpart, Azabu-Juban, inspired much of the retro-romantic backdrop we know and love in the 1990s franchise. Located in the Minato ward, it’s a high-end shopping and residential district that is also laid-back and surprisingly cozy. The neighborhood’s main shopping street sports over 300 shops, many of which are traditional and long-standing, like Mamegen, which was established in 1865.

Airlines urged to provide ‘realistic traveling times’ for domestic flights

Airlines should be forced to provide “realistic traveling times” for domestic flights, according to a public transport lobby group.

The Campaign for Better Transport (CBT) called for the rule to be introduced as part of its Fewer Flights Charter aimed at reducing aviation’s carbon emissions.

Airline schedules do not include time spent at airports before and after flights, which can add a significant proportion to the duration of domestic trips.

For example, easyJet advertises flights between Birmingham and Edinburgh taking one hour and 10 minutes.

Most passengers doing the journey will spend at least the same amount of time at airports.

CBT’S charter states: “Require airlines to give passengers realistic traveling times for domestic flights.”

The group also wants airlines to offer free train tickets to people who book international flights, to encourage them to travel to the airport by rail instead of car.

It called for the Government to

Winnipeggers looking to travel cheaply this summer

Canadians are on the hunt for affordable travel options this summer.

That includes Amedee Arbor, who is planning to ride around Manitoba in his pedal-powered velomobile.

“I might go to Falcon Lake or something like that,” Arbor said.

His trip’s cost will only be the food he eats on the way. Arbor is not the only one looking for a cheaper way to travel.

A Nanos research poll conducted for CTV News found 38 per cent of people surveyed said they are more likely to save on travel this summer – that’s a seven per cent jump from 2015. It also found 51 per cent of people said cost was the most important travel plan factor.

The survey was conducted between June 29 and 30.

The Winnipeg Airports Authority says it’s expecting a busy summer.

“Over the last couple of years each summer we’ve seen more and more travelers through

On This Day: Shinzo Abe’s Assassination

It’s been 12 months since Shinzo Abe’s assassination, an incident that sent shock waves across the globe. On the morning of July 8, the former Japanese prime minister was gunned down while giving a speech in Nara Prefecture. The suspect, Tetsuya Yamagami, was quickly arrested at the scene. After he was taken away, paramedics arrived to find Abe lying unconscious with blood all over his shirt. Frantically flown to Nara Medical University Hospital via helicopter, he wasn’t breathing and his heart had stopped. The ex-PM was pronounced dead at 5:03pm, five and a half hours after he’d been shot.
