Actor, director and producer Ron Howard famously gave his children’s middle names based on where they were conceived: Bryce Dallas (the city), twins Paige and Jocelyn share the middle name Carlyle (the New York hotel), and Reed Cross (the street where the family lived in London).

Location names are nothing new, however, and many people give their offspring a moniker that reminds them of a favorite city or country — or even a river.

Virtuoso’s Summer Top 10: US Europe, Canada Lead The Way

Summer is here, and all indications are that 2023 will see record numbers of travelers hitting the roads and skies. Where are they going? Luxury and experiential travel specialist Virtuoso has the answers.

Based on analysis of bookings, Virtuoso has revealed top vacation destinations and found that affluent globe trotters are spending big on luxury hotels and experiences for the summer season and beyond.

This Popular US Travel Destination Gets Its First Cannabis-Friendly Hotel

The “first cannabis-friendly hotel in Las Vegas” has officially opened.

The former Artisan Hotel Boutique is now home to The Lexi Las Vegas, which has completely transformed its guest experience. A level specifically dedicated to “420-friendly” rooms was added to the hotel when it first opened on June 2.

A hotel representative explained that the resort abides by Nevada law. This is for individuals who can become frustrated because they won’t be able to smoke marijuana in all areas of the hotel.

“We are not in the cannabis business; we are simply cannabis-friendly tourism,” said one hotel official.

Under Nevada law, marijuana may be consumed in a private residence or in a business that holds a cannabis license. The Lexi does not have such a license.

The Lexi has 64 rooms, all with finishes that reduce the effects of marijuana smoke. The resort also has a newly renovated pool area,

Airports across the US are likely to get crowded in the coming weeks as travelers set off on their summer vacations, with many Americans expected to head overseas for trips postponed by the pandemic.

For families, some of the best international getaways include Prince Edward Island in Canada; Ischia, Italy; and the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador, according to Jacqui Gifford, editor-in-chief of Travel and Leisure.
