Airlines Will Hire More Employees

According to FOX Business, United Airlines has revealed plans to hire 15,000 new workers by the end of 2023, with 7,000 employees already recruited in the first four months of the year. The move comes as the airline gears up for a busy summer season and an expected surge in air travel demand. The company is focusing on hiring staff across multiple areas, including customer service, airport operations, and technical operations, to ensure smooth and efficient operations during the anticipated influx of travelers.

“We are in hiring mode here at United Airlines,” said Kate Gebo, the company’s executive vice president of human resources.

Southwest Airlines is revising its plans to hire 7,000 workers this year due to a shortage of new Boeing jets. The airline hoped to expand its operations in response to an increase in post-pandemic travel demand, but it has been forced to adjust its hiring plans due to the lack of available aircraft. This development comes when airlines are grappling with a staff shortage, as travel demand has rebounded more quickly than anticipated following the pandemic.
