Taj: IGI Airport to get a Taj Hotel; IHCL is already present at Mumbai and Bengaluru airports

NEW DELHI: The Capital IGI Airport will soon get a Taj Hotel near Terminal 3. Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), parent company for the Taj, on Tuesday announced the signing of this 400-room hotel that will come up close to Aerocity. “The facilities (here) will include an all-day diner, a specialty restaurant, a bar and a lobby lounge.
The hotel will also (have) over 6,000 square feet of banqueting space and flexible meeting rooms. Recreational facilities will include a spa, swimming pool, and gym,” IHCL said in a statement about the upcoming hotel which will be its 15th hotel across the Taj, Selections, Vivanta and Ginger brands in the NCR that includes three under development.
IHCL MD-CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: “This signing is in line with IHCL’s vision to expand its footprint in gateway cities. The Taj branded hotel at one of the busiest airports in Asia will be a significant addition to our portfolio in the National Capital Region (NCR). With this addition the Taj brand is now present in the country’s largest airports — Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. We are delighted to partner with Chalet Airport Hotel Pvt Ltd for this hotel.”
Chalet Hotels MD-CEO Sanjay Sethi said: “We are delighted to partner with IHCL for our upcoming hotel in New Delhi by signing of this franchise agreement. It was a well thought out decision to choose the ‘Taj’ brand for this marque asset. We look forward to a grand opening of the Taj at the New Delhi Airport in a couple of years.”
