Why Travel Insurance Is A Must

If your flight is canceled or delayed or you miss one, a travel insurance policy can cover the costs at such times and help you book a new one.

As summer vacations open up, travel picks up. Before heading abroad, travelers should ensure they have a comprehensive insurance policy.

Travel insurance ensures protection against a range of emergencies and mishaps.

If you plan a vacation anytime soon, here are important things to keep in mind.

Purpose of the trip

It is important to select your travel policy based on the purpose of your trip.

If you are traveling for work, you can opt for a basic plan that provides coverage for trips or flight cancellations, loss of baggage, passports, or mobile devices, personal accident cover, cover for medical expenses, etc.

“If you are traveling for personal recreation purposes, then in addition to these covers, you can also opt for add-ons

Artificial Lake & Chairlift, Auli – Aroma Of Life

The artificial lake in Auli is perched at an astonishing elevation and is one of the world’s highest man made lakes. It was created to help in providing artificial snow on the ski slopes in the event of random rainfall. This also helps in extending the skiing season in Auli. The lake is located right next to the Clifftop Club and we did cover some of its pictures in our very first blog post on Auli.

The snow-clad mountains, skiing slopes and azure-blue water make for the most amazing scenery. The fact that it is a man-made lake does not dampen the magic and beauty of the place in any manner. Nature truly holds the key to our aesthetic, intellectual, cognitive and even spiritual satisfaction.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 17, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — As demand for summer travel surges and travel bookings soar, VisitorsCoverage, a global travel insurance marketplace, predicts a rise in customizable travel booking options.

“With Discovery, travelers can tailor their coverage to their exact needs, without paying for extras they don’t want.”

With the travel industry still grappling with staffing shortages, flight disruptions and weather inclusions, it is more important than ever for travel insurers to find ways to offer travelers what they need most: flexibility. As more insurance companies offer add-on benefits such as Cancel For Any Reason, Emergency Medical Evacuation, Rental Vehicle Damage, or even Pet Medical coverage travelers have more control over their travel protection options.

Help! My Tour Got Canceled but Travel Insurance Won’t Pay

The problem: Their trip was not technically “interrupted,” since they spent all 18 nights aboard. Several times in my conversations with insurance executives I heard the phrase “You’re not covered for loss of enjoyment,” but I imagined this applying to a week of rain at a Caribbean resort, not an Antarctic cruise that never made it to Antarctica.

I also heard from a reader named Alan, of Vaughan, Ontario, about a nightmarish return from Vancouver to Toronto during last Christmas season’s storms. After three WestJet flights were canceled and another delayed, all because of the weather, the next flight they were booked on was canceled because of a crew shortage, and he and his wife were stuck in Calgary overnight. Alan had paid for his trip with an HSBC credit card that offered travel insurance through Assurant.

The next day, with no word from WestJet on when they could fly,

WestJet customers holding their breath as strike notice jeopardizes travel plans

Vancouver resident Debby Raffard said she’s been anxiously checking social media for updates about her May 22 flight to Hawaii, which she booked with WestJet in November.

“I am beyond upset,” she said, expressing frustration on both sides.

“I don’t have that extra money to pay for another flight, nor do my traveling companions. So we are essentially screwed here,” Raffard said, noting the group made a non-refundable condo booking.

WestJet subsidiary Swoop notified customers there is no impact on operations so far. But WestJet said Monday night it had started preparations to cut

The Best Travel Insurance Plans For Different Types Of Trips

Every trip is different. So when Brian Carcich set out on an ambitious multi-country tour, he knew his travel insurance would have to keep up.

The policy needed to work everywhere and cover more than the essentials, such as trip interruptions and delays.

“For example, what happens if you need emergency medical care or hospitalization?” he wondered. “Credit card benefits help with some of these, but will only get you so far.”

So Carcich, a marketing executive from New York, did what many travelers do before their upcoming trips: he researched his travel insurance options to find the right plan. It’s a daunting but necessary exercise that you ignore at your own peril this summer, which may be the busiest one for travel in a generation.

And Carcich is glad he did, because it turned
