AI improves hotel performance and guest experience

Canary Technology : des analyses d’interactions qui montrent les vertus de l’IA pour les hôtels

According to Gurtej Gill, VP of AI Operations and Adoption at Canary Technologies, over 10 million conversations with clients in thousands of hotels worldwide have shown what the future of the hotel industry looks like. The company has released a report, “From Answers to Actions: What Millions of Guest Interactions Reveal About AI Inside the Stay,” based on its own usage data.

The report reveals that AI responds faster, with a median delay of nine seconds. 99% of responses arrive in less than 30 seconds, while human teams take a median of three minutes to respond, with a quarter of responses taking over 15 minutes and one in eight taking over an hour.

AI also responds better, according to the report. Six out of ten responses go beyond generic information to adapt to the individual client’s context. Clients who interact with AI are 11% more likely to leave a five-star review. Hotels equipped with AI messaging have seen their upsell revenue increase by an average of 54% in the first six months of use.

The report’s findings demonstrate that AI can improve both the hotel experience and performance, particularly since 45% of requests are related to revenue-generating activities. 41% of calls occur outside business hours, and 32% are about booking, which shifts revenue capture outside business hours. When upsell offers receive a response in less than five minutes, the conversion rate reaches 25%, compared to 21% after five minutes.

Canary Technologies considers agency as an additional step in automating hotel operations, capable of reducing transmission errors, streamlining execution, and accelerating transactional requests. “Clients want their specific requests to be handled quickly and efficiently,” notes Gurtej Gill. “To achieve this, hotels need AI that can function between all teams and systems, providing excellent service, improving operations, and generating new revenue.”

Canary Technologies will present these findings at The Hospitality Show in Miami, from November 2 to 4, 2026. The company has a base of over 20,000 hotels in more than 125 countries.
