GVB Tourism Works Micro-Grant applications are now open through a new online portal, giving Guam businesses, nonprofits and eligible agencies a faster way to request tourism‑related funding.
Digital portal simplifies the application process
The Guam Visitors Bureau unveiled a secure web‑based system that lets applicants upload documents, save drafts and submit forms from any device. Built‑in validation checks help ensure each submission is complete before it reaches reviewers. The move is meant to cut paperwork time and boost transparency, according to its statement.
“GVB is dedicated to empowering our industry and community partners by providing easier access to resources that support initiatives to enrich the visitor experience,” said GVB President and CEO Régine Biscoe Lee. “Our new grants portal streamlines the application process, allowing organizations to spend less time on paperwork and more time delivering meaningful projects that showcase the Håfa Adai spirit.”

Applicants can reach the platform at the GVB Grants Portal, where user guides and instructions are also posted. The portal’s design includes automated workflows that route files to the appropriate reviewers, a step that should speed up decision‑making.

Who can apply and what projects qualify
The aid program, administered through GVB’s Destination Development Program, supports initiatives across six focus areas: cultural tourism, regenerative/eco‑tourism, edu‑tourism, health and wellness tourism, sports tourism and local events. Projects must align with at least one of these categories to be considered.

Cultural tourism proposals might feature festivals or exhibitions that highlight Guam’s multi‑ethnic heritage. Eco‑tourism ideas could involve guided hikes that protect native flora while educating visitors. Edu‑tourism can range from school‑based field trips to workshops on the island’s history. Health and wellness concepts include yoga retreats or spa experiences that promote well‑being. Sports tourism may cover hosting international competitions or building facilities for local athletes. Local events encompass training programs, entrepreneurship workshops and community‑development activities.
GVB plans two award cycles each year. The first runs from Sept. 1 to Oct. 30, 2026, with funded activities scheduled for Nov. 2026 through Feb. 2027. The second opens March 1 to April 30, 2027, with events slated for May‑July 2027.
