Blue Rewards and Porter Airlines have formed a partnership, with Porter becoming the preferred airline partner, allowing members to earn VIPorter points up to 20% faster when linking accounts, and receive bonus Blue Points on eligible Porter flights booked through Blue Rewards Travel.
Partnership Details
The collaboration allows linked members to convert Blue Points into VIPorter points at a 2:1 ratio in the coming months. Jennifer Hawkins, President of Blue Rewards, emphasized the program’s value in a statement: “By connecting their Blue Rewards and VIPorter accounts, Members can earn points faster and enjoy additional benefits along the way. We’re bringing together the strengths of both programs to give Canadians more ways to make their travel more rewarding.”
Edmond Eldebs, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Porter Airlines, said that: “VIPorter is a distinct and value-focused program. As the preferred airline partner of Blue Rewards, we are giving members more reasons to choose Porter and to enjoy our raised economy experience more often.”
Member Benefits
Linked members can earn 500 Blue Points and 500 VIPorter points simply by connecting their accounts. Additionally, they receive enhanced earning rates for Porter flights. Members using an eligible linked BMO payment card can earn one additional VIPorter point per dollar spent, while others earn one point per every $2 spent. When redeeming Blue Points for Porter flights through Blue Rewards Travel, members earn bonus Blue Points based on booking value: 1,000 points for flights up to $350, 3,750 points for $351 to $450, and 7,500 points for bookings over $451.
From now until November 30, 2026, BMO cardholders can earn up to 1,500 additional bonus points when redeeming for Porter flights.
Future Plans
The partnership builds on the existing relationship between BMO and Porter, which began with the BMO VIPorter Mastercard launch in 2025. This collaboration aims to streamline rewards for Canadian travelers, offering a seamless way to maximize points across both programs. The conversion of Blue Points to VIPorter points, set to launch in the coming months, will further enhance earning flexibility for members.
