Hilton Hotel manager arrested for waking up guest by sucking on his toes

A Hilton Hotel manager was arrested and charged Friday for entering a guest’s room and sucking on the customer’s toes.

David Neal, 52, was charged with aggravated burglary and assault for entering a male guest’s room and sucking on his toes Thursday, March 30.

Nashville Police were dispatched shortly after 5 am to 121 4th Avenue South, where a Hilton Hotel resides, a spokesperson for the city’s police department stated.

While investigating a complaint, officers discovered that Neal, working as a night manager at the time, made a key card and entered the guest’s room.

The guest then woke up to find Neal sucking on his toes, which he was immediately confronted with.

The guest recognized Neal because the day before, he came into the room with another employee to fix an issue with the television, the spokesperson informed.

Thousands of Southern California hotel workers begin strikes

Just as the July Fourth holiday weekend got into high gear, thousands of hotel workers in Southern California began striking Sunday morning seeking to negotiate a contract with higher wages and other benefits, according to the union representing the workers.

Members of UNITE HERE Local 11, which says it represents more than 32,000 hospitality workers in Southern California and Arizona, are striking at more than a dozen hotels throughout Los Angeles and Santa Monica after their contract expired just after midnight, according to posts on the union’s Twitter page.

Participants include cooks, dishwashers, servers, front desk workers and room attendants, the union said in a news release. A union representative said Friday that the contract covered about 15,000 workers at 65 hotels.

The union’s key demands include a $5-an-hour wage increase, access to affordable family health care benefits and stronger workplace protections.

Thousands of hotel workers go on strike in southern California | US unions

Thousands of hotel workers in southern California walked off the job on Sunday, demanding higher pay and better benefits in what their union is calling the largest strike in its history.

Cooks, room attendants, dishwashers, servers, bellmen and front desk agents at hotels were picking outside major hotels in Los Angeles and Orange counties just as the summer tourist season is leaning up.

Last month, members of Unite Here Local voted 11 96% in favor of authorizing the strike. The union is seeking better wages, improved healthcare benefits, higher pension contributions and less strenuous workloads.

In addition, the union wants to create a “hospitality workforce housing fund” to help workers deal with the soaring costs of living in greater Los Angeles. Many employees report commuting hours to work because they can’t afford to live near their jobs.

Trump hotel documents case brought by Democrats dismissed by Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has dismissed a lawsuit from a number of congressional Democrats who were attempting to obtain information about the government lease for the Washington DC hotel previously owned by former President Donald Trump.

The court decided to dismiss the suit after the legislators voluntarily dropped the case earlier in June in the federal district court. The justices had agreed to hear a bid by the Biden administration to block the suit.

The case was first initiated in 2017 – Mr Trump’s first year in office – when 17 Democrats on the House Oversight and Reform Committee sued the General Services Administration (GSA) for information about the 2013 lease of the Old Post Office building to Mr Trump’s company to make it into a hotel.

Marriott Bonvoy is making some changes to how hotels are reimbursed when members redeem points for a stay. While this isn’t necessarily bad news, it will almost certainly impact the value of many award redemptions.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who finds the economics of hotel loyalty programs to be fascinating. For the most part, the global hotel chains don’t actually own their individual hotels. Rather they typically just have management or franchise contracts for them, and they get a percent of the revenue.

This raises the question of how hotels get paid when you redeem points, since the individual hotels and loyalty programs are very different parties for these purposes. As a general rule of thumb, here’s how it currently works with Marriott Bonvoy:

Newport Beach couple found dead in Mexico hotel room

A Newport Beach couple was found dead inside of their hotel room at a resort in Baja California Sur, Mexico, according to Mexican police.

Police said the deaths occurred in the community of El Pescadero on Tuesday at the Hotel Rancho Pescadero, which is owned by Hyatt. The town is located between Todos Santos and the resort of Los Cabos.

The police said that paramedics were called to the hotel Tuesday when the couple was found unconscious in their hotel room. By the time they arrived, both were already dead.

Family members have identified one of the deceased as 28-year-old Abby Lutz, who was staying in the area with her boyfriend, 41-year-old John Heathco, who both had planned to meet up with her dad on Sunday for Father’s Day .

Radisson Hotel Group india: Radisson Hotel Group signs 11 new hotels in India

Radisson Hotel Group said on Thursday that it has signed 11 new hotels across India brands between January and April this year.

The company said these new hotels are present across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ujjain, Raipur, Sonamarg, Manali, Kerala, and Visakhapatnam.

The group also announced the debut of its luxury lifestyle brand, Radisson Collection in India with the signing of the first hotel in Hyderabad while expanding its portfolio across other brands, including Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Inn & Suites by Radisson, and Radisson Individuals Retreats , a brand extension of Radisson Individuals. The company said it has 110 operating hotels in over 64 locations in South Asia.
